There is life beyond academia

• I was born and raised in the southeast area of Brazil (Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais).

• I first came to the U.S. in 2012 for a 12-month undergraduate study abroad program, supported by a Brazilian government scholarship called Science Without Borders.

• In 2016, I returned to the U.S. to pursue my doctoral degree and became a U.S. citizen in 2021.

• I love traveling and learning about the richness of people and cultures in the world. 

• Cooking for friends and family is my favorite hobby. 

•  The beach is my happy place.
